Emergence

this painting is painted within the theme of emergence, perhaps a bulb bursting forth in spring, or new roots shooting downwards, it feels like a choatic infused garden space bursting with life and interacting with all beings surrounding it. its full and alive because of its collective response to the environment. I dunno if I'm getting too invested in it now, hahaha, but that's how it feels to me, as usual I always hope that you allow your own feelings and responses to merge with it.

this piece is very special in its process of making, I started with an MDF canvas, and began painting with acrylics. when the inks came out, I wanted more texture to accomodate them, so I started collaging paper and canvas directly onto the surface. from there I added many layers and began building up this scene. an ecological dreamscape.. okay I'm always hyping it too much, but I genuinely love the effect of mixing canvas, wood, paper, high gloss varnish and potent colours together.
